I found this steer head carving at a second hand shop for next to nothing and figured it was in need of some customization.
Who ever carved it had some talent and I figured it was a shame for it to languish in a shop unappreciated. I plan to give it a full make-over by wood burning the fine details to bring out the realism and really make it pop.
This carving is a good example of what you can find when you are not looking and when you venture into stores that you might otherwise not go into. I find that small country towns are excellent places to find odd treasures that can be turned into awesome pieces of art.
I will post later how it turns out.
