Once you have the spoon roughed out the next step is to start cleaning up the inside cut areas. What seems to work best for me is a set of needle files.
I also started to carve out the lines where the pattern crosses over each other. For this I use a tiny Flex Cut V-gouge like the one pictured below.
While I was doing that I also started to rough out the spoon part as well and selected a half round scoop shaped gouge for this task also pictured below.
This will get things moving right along and your Lovespoon Carving will start to take shape. I always love this part as when you can start to see your artistic vision appearing before your eyes.
