Now that we have the pattern transferred to our piece of wood it is time to make entry holes for our scroll saw and coping saw.
Above you can see that I have drilled tiny holes at the corners of where most lines intersect. This will make it easy to manoeuver your saw blade around with the least chance of breaking your blade. Because there was a lot of tight cuts to be made I decided to use an open framed coping saw so that I could control my cuts and get closer to my outline.
After a little time and patience you now have the basic roughed out design of your lovespoon carving and are ready to move on to the next step of carving.
In my next post I will show you where to start and how to progress through this project to completion. Stay tuned……….
